      Mission
  — Anthropology and archaeology in the Americas —

This includes the scientific interest in how the former inhabitants of the Americas lived since there was a great cultural diversity, focusing mainly on two historical moments: before colonialism (pre-Hispanic archaeology) and the colonial period (1492-1830).
To study the anthropology and archaeology in the Americas, an extensive catalogue of documents must be consulted which includes lists, descriptions and diaries from travellers, chroniclers and representatives of the administration referring to the discovered land but we must also study the material remains such as artefacts, monuments and other architectural relics to indicate the cultural essence of the indigenous communities.
