      Mission
  — Hispano-Roman archaeology and architecture —

Throughout history, the rural and urban landscape has undergone major transformations as a result of physical land changes and changes made by human activity and development, altering the inhabited area and adding new architectural and planning features to it, sometimes driven by other types of processes such as invasions and political or religious changes.
Cities or smaller urban and peri-urban settlements, military camps, towns and mining operations exemplify such changes to the land and the concept of its public, private, religious and representation space; archaeology tries to define their causes and characteristics by studying their material remains.
