  — Civil and military archaeology and architecture in northern Hispania (I): "Camino de las Ánimas” —

Camino de las Ánimas is a unique section of the archaeological site at Herrera de Pisuerga (Palencia). The archaeological excavations made in this area, which is located on the right bank of the Burejo river on the outskirts of the current built-up area, have established the existence of a long-lasting civil settlement to the south-east of the military base. This project includes the study of the nature, extension, layout and survival of this settlement as well as its link to the adjacent military base and the Pisoraca mentioned in both the classical sources and the milestones, which locate it in relation to the Roman routes.
